Founder's letter
BANNANNA was born in 2017, founded by designer Nelson Silva. A Brazilian resortwear brand built around a single conviction: summer belongs on the body, not just on the calendar. It emerged from a meeting of contrasts. The cultural depth of Bahia, where Nelson was born. The cosmopolitan pace of São Paulo, where he was raised and where the brand is based. The seaside spirit of Rio de Janeiro, which threads through everything we make.
It isn't only the feel of freedom, energy, and lightness on the skin. We believe those who love the sun should wear summer. They should be summer.

BANNANNA isn't only a resortwear label. It's an invitation to embody the season. To live freely, boldly, with intention. Our swimwear and apparel are designed for men who celebrate the sensuality of nature, the confidence of self-expression, and the elegance of simplicity.
Every piece is handmade in Brazil by a women-led atelier, produced in small batches that prioritize detail, individuality, and care. We work with high-quality, renewable, and certified materials. A conscious approach to fashion, with a deep respect for the environment that inspires us.
BANNANNA was born from my desire to create something that reflected a uniquely Brazilian perspective on men's swimwear. Something personal, authorial, different from what I saw around me. My process starts from a sensorial connection to the product itself, not from trends or formulas. The brand has found its voice nationally; now it carries a real desire to meet the world.
Back on the global stage
In 2020, BANNANNA became the first Brazilian men's swimwear brand to go global. We paused briefly in 2024 to rebuild the platform and the international experience from the ground up. We return now with renewed energy, ready to connect again.
